SoldPress v 1.3

Winter Product Update

Version 1.3

We are excited to share with you some enhancements and changes that we have made to the SoldPress in the upcoming Version 1.3 scheduled for release on November 22th, 2013.

What’s new?

  • Developer Framework.
  • Widget Pack.
  • Geocoding.
  • SEO Enhancements.
  • SoldPress Cloud.

Developer Framework

We are pleased to announce the availability of the SoldPress Developer Plugin. The Developer Plugin comes with a Theme Framework and Data Framework.

Theme framework

The SoldPress Theme Framework allows you to change more than just the stylesheet. You now have the ability to overwrite any file in the SoldPress default theme. It is as simple as including a file of the same name in the SoldPress Developer Plugin directory, and it will overwrite the equivalent file in the SoldPress theme directory.

For instance, if you want to change the style for the listing page slideshow, you can include a copy of the sp_slideshow.php in your Plugin directory, and that file will be used instead of the core file.

Data framework

With the SoldPress Data framework we have included numerous hooks into the CREA DDF data processing component for you to implement custom data processing logic.

For example: you could use a Data Framework action filter to retrieve property tax data from local governments and municipalities.

SEO Enhancements

We are pleased to support schema.org.

Search engines including Bing, Google and Yahoo! rely on this markup to improve the display of search results, making it easier for people to find the right web pages.

WordPress sites are generated from structured data, which is stored in a SQL databases. When this data is formatted into HTML, it becomes very difficult to recover the original structured data. Search engines, can benefit greatly from direct access to this structured data. Our listing page markup enables search engines to understand the information on web pages and provide richer search results in order to make it easier for users to find relevant information on the web.

Widget and ShortCode Pack

We are pleased to introduce 3 new widgets.

  1. Listing Widget.
  2. Listings Widget.
  3. Category Widget.

We are also pleased to introduce 2 new shortcodes.

  1. Listings Shortcodes.
  2. Map Shortcodes.

Geocoding

We are pleased to add Geocoding services from Google Maps.

Our data loading logic now uses reverse Geocoding address lookup. This allows us to convert addresses (like “525 7101 C 120 Street, Delta, BC”) into geographic coordinates (like latitude 37.423021 and longitude -122.083739), which you can use to place markers or position the map.

In addition, we are now able to retrieve separate address components such as neighbourhood and city data.

SoldPress Cloud

We have created the fastest and most convenient cloud technology to help you easily and more efficiently manage your CREA DDF property listings. If your shared Hosting service is not providing enough horsepower, sign up for SoldPress Cloud Hosting.
